This performance is a poem turned into a song around the universe of swallows. Their flights, their nests and their eggs. A story of generations and migrations wrapped in wind, movement, surprise and sensations, accompanied by the subtlety of the piano, the sound of unexpected objects and the power of percussion.

Based on the poem of the same name by Matilde Rosa Araújo and the music score for the same poem by Fernando Lopes-Graça.

Direction, performance and voice: Margarida Mestre
Musical composition, sound space and performance (piano): Rui Ferreira
Drawings projected on stage: Marta Rego
Live slide manipulation and Adufe: Sofia Adriana Portugal
A poem by Matilde Rosa Araújo
Original music by Fernando Lopes-Graça

Margarida Mestre has a background in pedagogy, dance, sound / music and performance.
She develops her artistic work around the elements of body and voice, poetry and scene, writing and musicality, handling the elements in intuitively appropriate proportions in order to write dramaturgies that combine different artistic languages for the stage, which she either performs or guides others to perform.
Author of poetry pieces both for adult and children, she has a particular fondness for choir work and for inventing contemporary ways of saying the old.
Since the beginning of her career, she has worked on and experimented with projects that intersect Art, Education and Nature.

Rui Ferreira is a freelance multi-instrumentalist musician, who works in music production and sound engineering.

Sofia Adriana Portugal is a singer and composer. She has a degree in Music (interpretation / singing) and a Master’s degree in Performing Arts / Theatre-Music.
